I love every wedding that I shoot. People are in love, people are happy, lots of partying, lots of fun… what’s not to love? However, I’m going to let you in on a secret. As a photographer I have an “aesthetic” that I prefer to shoot. I think most photographers do. And as luck would have it, I have had a lot of brides come my way that shares my aesthetic. Have you had your wedding that had been planned for months and months get unceremoniously cancelled or postponed by the Corona Virus? At the time of writing this, the country is starting to reopen little by little as we get into summer, and we have our fingers crossed that the Corona virus is able to stay contained and we wont have to go into another national lock down. This blog post is going to be a bit more personal, but it’s super important, in my humble opinion. Before Dylan and I got married, we were advised to go to premarital counseling, which we did, and I’m really glad we did it because it was very beneficial. Now, I know counseling has a negative stigma surrounding it, but it was actually one of the best things we did so that we could enter a safe space to talk about everything that could happen during the next 40+ years of our lives. Last month, Dylan, our cat Flynn( you read that right!), his family and I all went to Gatlinburg on a family vacation! I had never been before and was super excited to hike some mountains and hang out in nature. We rented this amazing cabin with an indoor swimming pool and an arcade room and lots of other amazing amenities! It was basically glamping! We did not rough it at all! ;)

I walked into the girl’s getting ready house for Noren and Chris’s wedding and found everyone huddled around a cute little dog. I see the bride, Noren, and she says “Hi! We are super excited about my wedding, but a dog just showed up so we are all way more excited about that at the moment!!”.
