How do we hold the date for our wedding?

Once you have decided that you would like to book with me (yay!) I will send you two separate emails. One includes the contract, which needs to be signed by you. The second will be an invoice for a deposit of $2,000. Once I have received both your date is locked and loaded!

What's included in the cost of our wedding?

This partially depends on which package you purchase. In every package there is a guaranteed number of hours of photographic coverage by Kristen Bowen. Also included will be a consultation with Kristen where you can work out details, create a timeline, and make sure everything is set up to be a great day! All photos are included in the wedding price and will be delivered through an online gallery.

What can we add on to our photography package?

I have many add on features to make sure your wedding dreams come true! You can add a second shooter, up to 12 hours of coverage, albums (with album design included), engagement or lifestyle sessions, rehearsal coverage, and a honeymoon package. Be sure to inquire for more details.

Do you have a guaranteed number of photos in your wedding day galleries?

Because each wedding day is different, I do not have a guaranteed number of photos. It really just depends on how the day is set up, how many shooters there are, and if a large number of photos is a priority for the couple. A good rule of thumb is to assume about 80 photos for every hour of coverage. So if you have 8 hours of photography coverage, you can estimate to receive around 640 photos.

Do you offer print services? Is it required that I print my pictures with you?

I do offer print services! Having the photos in print is so important, especially in the digital age. Photos, especially wedding photos, document a family's legacy and should be in print around the new home. I offer album services, canvas and prints for all images.

When you book a wedding session, you will receive the finalized digital images and are able to print them wherever you would like. They are YOUR photos to do as you would like with them.

However, within the gallery you can order prints and albums to be delivered to your door with one click. The prices are competitive and most people opt to order them from me right within the gallery. It is fast, convenient, and the printing company is a professional quality company, not just a Walmart. :)

Do most people order albums? What is the album design process like?

Albums make a great gift for the Christmas immediately following the wedding, which makes them a very popular option. It is usually either the couple ordering the album for themselves or it is the parents ordering an album for themselves and for their kids. Albums are discounted if more than one is purchased.

If you order an album from within the gallery, I will have you select your favorite photos. Once those are sent to me I will design an album and layout. You will have up to 3 revision opportunities when I send the proof to you. Once you okay it, it will be printed and sent to you. Easy Peasey!

What is your photographic style?

My editing style is best described as timeless, elegant and detailed. The photos are edited very simply in a way that mimics the classic style of film photography. As a result they are very clean and bright, simple and pretty.

Do you travel?

Not only do I travel, I LOVE to travel. If you have a destination wedding or an elopement in a warm or beautiful place, I will cut you a very nice deal ;)

I’ve shot in France, Italy, Canada, Ireland, and Estonia. Ask me about it, I will probably talk your ear off!

If you are within the continental US, I have a travel fee to add onto the session price if it is outside the Indianapolis area.

What makes you different from other photographers?

My three biggest priorities are : Building relationships with my clients, telling their story, and giving them an amazing experience.

By the day of their weddings, clients feel like they know me. You are inviting me to be a part of the biggest day of your life and I respect and love becoming a small part of the family for a day. I’m often seen chatting and laughing with grandma or grabbing a tissue for mom for those happy tears. I love my couples and love to stay in touch with them after their wedding day. I like to see them go on adventures, start a family, and just watch their life unfold.

My biggest job is to tell the story of the wedding day. I’m not there to do fancy poses or complicated lighting. I’m there to be a part of the day and document it as it unfolds. Of course we do some portraits, but my style is much more focused on being candid and authentic than being super “posey posey”. I would say we spend 20% of the time posed and 80% of it just letting the day unfold. That way we get the photo of dad tearing up when he sees his daughter for the first time in her dress. That is what really matters.

I am extremely detailed oriented and help almost all of my brides with timeline and planning. I want my couples to feel like they are my only client because I spend so much individualized time with them. Not only do I help on the front end, I make it a priority to get images to them in a timely manner so you can have them as quickly as possible. A wedding day with KBP should be low stress, organized and an amazing experience.
