My Thanksgiving Day Tablescape

Like most of us, Covid-19 has managed to mess up the best laid plans. This year Dylan and I bought a house right before Covid really swept through the country, so no one ever got to come over and see the house. One of our dreams was to have a house big enough to host parties and have people over, so it will probably not surprise you to hear that it’s been a huge bummer not having very many people over to see the house.

Well, Thanksgiving 2020 was going to be the first time I hosted Thanksgiving. I was all set to make a turkey, all the sides and pull out our brand new table to host Dylan’s family. Alas, with Covid on the rise we made the difficult decision to cancel Thanksgiving 2020 and (hopefully) be able to reconvene for Christmas.

One of my visions was to create an aesthetically gorgeous tablescape and decorate the house to the nines for Thanksgiving. I bought most of the food and decorations before we cancelled, so to keep me from bumming out too hard, I set it all up and photographed it like how I would tables at a wedding reception.

I’m in LOVE with how it turned out! Feel free to save these images on Pinterest and I will link where I got everything at the bottom! I hope you enjoy!

I used Eucalyptus down the middle to just fill the table with greenery. I peppered in some pinecones and other assorted plant decor.

I ordered personalized name tags for each guest from Etsy. The Etsy Store is linked below.

Both my brother Jeff and Dylan’s Granny passed away within the last year. It has been a hard time for our family with so much loss. I included their names so a little piece of them is around the table even though they aren’t physically with us. It was my small way to pay homage to them during the holidays, which can be tough.

I had a blast with this creative project and even though I’m super bummed no one got to see it this year, I’m trying to be positive and just remember that everything is already ready for next year. I was able to have my bestie over for Friendsgiving so she was the the only one, along with Dylan) who got to enjoy it with me. Oh, and Baymax joined me fore setting it up too. Cheers to Thanksgiving!
