A Photographer Goes to Hollywood Studios
Hollywood. The glitz! The glam! It’s always captured my imagination, especially the old 50’s Hollywood vibe. I think that is one of the reasons that Disney’s Hollywood Studios has always captured my attention. It’s not actual Hollywood, but an idealized, glamorized version of it.
Especially now that I’ve been discovering my love for film and developing my creative passion for photography outside of just weddings, I couldn’t help bringing my ‘nice’ camera along with me to Hollywood Studios. Instead of rushing right by and trying to get on all the rides like I usually do, I really took my time and walked up and down and paying attention to all the details. The lengths Disney goes to story tell and details they put into their decor and design has always blown my mind. But this trip, the whole point was to really go and appreciate it, artist to artist. I spent a good hour just walking up and down “Sunset Boulevard” and taking it in. And even when I left the Hollywood section and went into the other lands, I was inspired and continued taking detail photos.
This was a creative assignment I gave to myself. But I really wanted to see if I could take photos that captured the essence and feeling that the Imagineers worked so hard to put into Hollywood Studios. I have some photos on film too, but these are all digital.
