Oheka Castle Wedding
Oheka Castle is now officially my ultimate favorite wedding venue. This was the most beautiful wedding shoot that I have ever done. Oheka Castle is a magnificent mansion, resting majestically on the highest point of Long Island, NY. It emanates the elegant refinement of a chateau in France. While I was there not only did I get to photograph the wedding, but I got to stay in the estate itself. This French-style chateau was—and still is today—the second-largest private residence ever built in America.
This venue is the perfect backdrop for an Old World Wedding. It had the French style gardens that immediately puts you back in time. It was the most stunning place I had ever had the pleasure to work at. And, as a Taylor Swift lover, I was definitely singing Blank Space all day long ;) (This is where the music video was shot).
The day started with some portraits of the groom getting ready in the stately library, complete with grand piano and many historic artifacts. We also had to get some photos of the interior of the estate and show off the glamour of the french style architecture as the bride finished getting ready. The vision for this wedding was old glamour meets modern fashion. The bride’s first dress was giving all the royal wedding vibes with the amazing sash being attached with a bow. She looked like a modern day princess.
The ceremony was out on Oheka Castle’s amazing french style grounds. After a few pictures, the bride changed into her evening gown which was an Pnina Tornai. Both gowns were from the world renowned Kleinfeld Bridal in New York. The reception was small outside on the back of the castle, and we had lots of time to stroll the grounds and get some pictures before driving away down towards the castle gates. It really and truly felt like a royal wedding. It was definitely a dream come true.
